A warm welcome to our 3rd Virgilio Cohort
This year our Virgilio Selection Interviews with the Commission transitioned to a virtual format. Being in the midst of the pandemic with global long-term consequences, this was the only way out. While this situation has prevented us from seeing you in person and interact face to face with you, your selection is no less relevant today. We've been extremely happy to receive a great interest from our 3rd year students to participate in the Virgilio program, which reiterates the importance of research in medical education. In the current situation, medical science is the only vehicle that will ultimately sustain our survival. We are all encouraged by the work that's coming forward by the laboratories and clinical research programs all over the world in developing novel testing strategies and working on finding a vaccine.
Congratulations and a warm welcome to our 3rd Cohort students. We consider you all promising students in terms of your quest for discovering the field of research, personal qualities and academic merit. We hope you understand the importance of the program and are willing to invest your time in acquiring knowledge and skills related to research.
As you are aware, Virgilio being a program funded by Fondazione Cariplo has rules and regulations we need to comply with and has minimum requisites for the selection of our students. We are sorry for those of you who did not satisfy the minimum selection criteria and others whom we could not take because of the limited number of seats per year (10 students from each of our Partner Universities, total 30 students). We wish to let you know that we value your candidature and interest in the Virgilio program. Even though you are not selected, you are still free to pursue your laboratory experience in your respective universities or elsewhere. In case you are interested, as Virgilio Program, we shall be pleased with your participation in our online courses and academic seminars. So, let's remain connected!
