Call/Bando for academic year 2026-27: April 1st – May 8th, 2026 at 12.00

Virgilio Team is pleased to announce the opening Call for Application/ Bando for the academic year 2026-27. The admission is open to internal students enrolled in the 3rd year of the single cycle degree course in Medicine and Surgery Degree and the SMS degree course at University of Milano-Bicocca, with the following requisites:

• An outstanding record of academic accomplishment;
• To be enrolled for the first time in the 3rd year of the Medicine and Surgery Degree Course;
• To have acquired all the course credits (CFU) planned for the first two years, according to the Course Regulation;
• To have passed all exams as per the Course Regulation, with a passing rate of min. 27/30;
• Strong interest in basic and translational research;
• English language proficiency.

There are 10 seats available for UNIMIB students.

Application procedure

The Call for Application will be published on the UNIMIB website as well as on the website of Virgilio program.

Those interested can apply by completing the form that will be shared with the Call along with a motivation letter (max. 2 pages).

Pl note that the application is strictly restricted to only the 3rd year students.

Selection

Final selection will be through an interview with the Joint Selection Committee in the 14^th May 2025 at 13.30. Short-listed candidates will receive an email communication regarding the interview time slot. The final selection results (Graduatoria) will be announced by May 18th on the Department of Medicine & Surgery website of UNIMIB as well as communicated via email.

Admission requirements

Applicants are students who, in academic year 2025/2026, are enrolled for the first time in the third year of the degree course in Medicine and Surgery/MEDTEC School of the Humanitas University and that, at the closure date of this announcement, have acquired all of the credits (CFU) expected in the first two years of the Course, with a passing rate of at least 27/30 (twenty-seven/thirty).

Application modalities

To participate to the selective procedure, students who meet the requirements listed above must fill in Annex A and send it to virgilio@hunimed.eu by May 8th 2026 by the end of the day, together with a motivational letter (1 page max). The motivation letter should be an honest explanation of why each student would like to apply to the Virgilio course (as opposed to, for example, the clinically-oriented Honours Track courses).

Requisiti di accesso

Possono partecipare al percorso formativo Programma Virgilio gli studenti che nell’anno accademico 2025-2026 risultino iscritti per la prima volta al 3° anno del corso di laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in Medicina e Chirurgia e che alla data di scadenza del bando abbiano acquisito tutti i crediti formativi universitari (CFU) previsti dal loro curriculum formativo del 1° e 2° anno di corso, avendo ottenuto una votazione media d’esame non inferiore a ventisette / trentesimi.

Modalità di partecipazione

Lo studente in possesso dei requisiti di cui al precedente punto deve presentare domanda di iscrizione inviando l’allegato 1, insieme alla lettera motivazionale (scritta in inglese) e al certificato dei voti, via e-mail a:
