My experience & learnings
During the last few months I had the opportunity to attend the renowned laboratory: Maria Letizia Verga – Center for the study and treatment of pediatric leukemia thanks to my mentor Dott. Fabio Pagni and the PI of the laboratory Dott.ssa Marta Serafini. During the time I spent in laboratory with my tutor Dott.ssa Corinne Arsuffi I had a close encounter with pre-clinical research about an innovative field of hematology: CAR-CIK therapy against pediatric leukemia. It is such an interesting topic that gives a future perspective to treat a lot of diseases still untreatable and I think that’s such a satisfying sensation. I had the opportunity to learn a lot of techniques which until then I had only studied in books. Furthermore, I was immersed all day long in a scientific environment that spured me to go into detail about the topic I liked the most. During my lab rotation I saw the steps needed to write a scientific article.
